CHILD PROTECTION OFFICER

The DANISH REFUGEE COUNCIL (DRC) Mission in Serbia has opened the recruitment process for the national posts of "Child Protection Officer" within the framework of the UNICEF funded project "Child friendly spaces/Mother and Baby Corners – support to refugee children".
Position Title: Child Protection Officer
Duration: 2 months
Duty Station: Vranje/Bujanovac/Presevo
• Establish contacts with mothers of children at the Child Friendly space/Mother and Baby Corner in order to support them;
• Gather, select and analyze information on child protection contained in communications with mothers and children and their families to appropriate services and ensuring the referral is applied;
• Be the first point of contact for parents and children on any issues concerning the well being of children in the field;
• Identify any needs of Child protection for children and mothers;
• Organize a workshops and act as a workshop trainer/facilitator;
• Manage basic/social counseling, awareness, guidance and emotional support if needed;
• To be approachable with friendly manner for mothers and children, to be good listener and to be able to communicate clearly and effectively;
• Prepare regular reports on the activities implemented and future plans.
Qualification and skills
• Bachelor degree in Pedagogy or other relevant field;
• Written and spoken proficiency in Serbian;
• Writing and speaking English or Arabic would be an asset;
• Commitment to work long hours in the field;
• Monitoring and reporting skills;
• Familiarity with child rights, as part of human rights protection, displacement situations;
• Culture, gender, age sensitivity;
• Computer skills.
Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience;
