The DANISH REFUGEE COUNCIL (DRC) Mission in Serbia has opened the recruitment process for the national posts of "Medical Doctor" within the framework of the EURTF Madad funded project "EU support to Serbia and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia in managing migration/refugee crisis/Balkan route." 

Position Title: Medical Doctor.

Duration: 2 months.

Duty Station: Head office Belgrade with frequent travels within Serbia.

The main role of the Medical Doctor is to monitor, provide advises and field support to DRC medical teams at all targeted locations in oder to improve access of refugees and migrants to health care services.


  • As a medical doctor, to supervise the medical teams and monitor access of refugees and migrants to health-care services;

  • As a medical doctor, to undertake consultation with the medical teams regarding the medical condition and treatment of refugees and migrants;

  • As a medical doctor, to do medical assessment of refugees and migrants with specific medical needs in close cooperation with the medical teams and to ensure treatment within the national health-care system;

  • Conducting referrals and follow –up of refugees and migrants with specific medical needs in close cooperation with the medical teams and the National health-care system, as well as with organizations supporting refugees and migrants;

  • As a medical doctor, to analyse the information came from the field and prepare daily, weekly and monthly reports;

  • Performs any other duties as assigned by Medical Program Manager.

 Qualification and skills:

  • Bachelor degree in Medicine (University degree);

  • Wrriten and spoken proficiency in English and Serbian;

  • Monitoring and reporting skills;

  • Good knowledge of refugee/migration issues;

  • Culture, gender, age sensitivity;

  • Advanced computer skills;

  • Valid driving license.

Professional experience:

  • Relevant professional experience of not less than 1 (one) year;

  • Familiarity/prior experience with DRC and its persons of concern (including internally displaced persons, refugees, returnees) would be a distinct advantage;

  • An understanding of humanitarian issues in Serbia and the region.
