Danish Refugee Council Serbia organized two workshops “Working with different cultures and rules on public information“ in Vranje, on 7 and 8 March 2016. The workshops were organized within the program “Dignity for the people on the move – protection and assistance for refugees transiting Greece, fYRoM and Serbia“ financed by the DFID through the Start Network with the aim to raise the capacities among representatives of NGOs in providing adequate response to the refugee influx in Serbia.
The official opening of completed rehabilitation works of Phase II in the One stop Centre in Presevo was organised on 16 February 2016 by the Representatives of the Government Working Group of the Republic of Serbia with the presence of Royal Norwegian Embassy, UNHCR, Danish Refugee Council and other agencies, responding to the most urgent needs of migration influx to Serbia
The official opening of the I Phase of rehabilitation works in the One stop Centre in Presevo was organised by the Government of Serbia, with the Royal Norwegian Embassy and Danish Refugee Council as implementing Agency, on the 17th of December, responding to the most urgent needs of migration influx to Serbia coming from refugee producing countries.
The Danish Embassy in Belgrade and Danish Refugee Council in Serbia signed the project document regarding Enhancement of Migration Response Capacities in Serbia on Friday, 13th of November 2015. This is to support Local Councils for Migration in updating and realisation of Local Action Plans and raise-awareness of governmental and non-governmental service provides on migration and related topics.
The implementing agencies involved in the flood relief program funded by the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Serbia (UNOPS, FAO, ASB, HELP and DRC and their partners), representatives of the Donor, FAAARO and relevant local self-government departments in Paracin will participate in the Joint Lessons Learnt Workshop held in Paracin on 7 July 2015
Within the EU funded program “EU Assistance for Flood Relief in Serbia,” DRC has concentrated all its efforts on proper implementation of the program activities targeted the reconstruction of 231 individual housing objects and construction of 18 prefabricated houses. Rehabilitation of 78 small scale business activities in six flooded municipalities in Serbia has been conducted by the DRC’s partner in the program, LNGO “Eneca.”
The Official Ground Breaking Ceremony was held in Raca on 20 April 2015, announcing the commencement of construction works on Social Housing in Supportive Environment Building for the accommodation of 15 internally displaced and refugee domicile families who have been living in the collective centre 'Karadjordjev dom' for years.
