Head of the EU Delegation Michael Davenport’s visit to Obrenovac

Wednesday, 25 January 2017 – Mr Michael Davenport, Head of the EU Delegation, visited Obrenovac on the occasion of commencement of cleaning of drainage channels in Obrenovac within the EU Assistance for Flood Relief in Serbia Programme.

Accompanied by the mayor of Obrenovac, the beneficiaries and NGOs involved in the works, the EU Ambassador paid a visit to the location where the Baricka River riverbed was reconstructed, the public photo exhibition about the flood protection, the family Krupljanin who have restarted their agricultural production thanks to the donation of lambs, and the company Stelit 90 which received two pieces of equipment through EU assistance programme.

Davenport also visited the Foreign Language School “Moja skola“, which received 5,000 Euros for the purchase of computers, blackboards and projectors through DRC/ENECA. Thanks to this donation, the Foreign Language School managed to revive their business operation after the damage suffered during the floods, and started working again on three locations in Obrenovac and one in Ub, currently engaging seven lecturers.
