EUD Officially Granting 28 Contracts for Social Inclusion in Serbia

With the official ceremony of granting certificates to social welfare institutions and organizations from 36 municipalities in Serbia, the EU Delegation to Serbia made the official commencement of the project on 10 February 2016. The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Policy Mr. Aleksandar Vulin, Minister of Agriculture and Enviromental Protection Ms. Snezana Bogosavljevic Boskovic, Head of the EU Delegation to Serbia Mr. Michael Davenport and Mayor of the City of Kraljevo Mr. Tomislav Ilic and many other representatives of social welfare institutions and implementing agencies.

The City of Kraljevo and Danish Refugee Council will jointly contribute to the implementation of the project “Empowering Roma community for socioeconomic development and environmental proteciton in the City of Kraljevo“ to be realised in the period of 18 months.

EU funded project “Empowering Roma community for socioeconomic development and environmental proteciton in the City of Kraljevo“ is managed by the EU Delegation to the Republic of Serbia and implemented by Danish Refugee Council and the City of Kraljevo. The main goal of the project is to support marginalized and disadvantaged groups and local community to actively participate in the socioeconomic development and environmental protection in the City of Kraljevo. Through the project, Danish Refugee Council will contribute to improving employability and income-stream opportunities for most disadvantaged groups through economic diversification and environmental protection. The Local Self-government, public and private sector in the City of Kraljevo will promote decision making process and socioeconomic initiatives for social inclusion of Roma with special emphasis on Roma youth without parental care coming out of institutional support.
